Patients suffering from congenital strabismus are referred for surgery in cases that do not improve with glasses and eye gymnastics programs. With this method of treatment, some of the 6 muscles in our eyes are strengthened, some are weakened, or some of the points of influence are changed. Although strabismus treatment is preferred at an early age, treatment is also possible at an adult age.
The operation is mainly performed under general anesthesia. After the operation, the eye is closed. On the first day after the operation, the eye is opened and the eye is bandaged. After that, the eye does not close and there is no pain, mainly a slight sinking in the eye can be felt. Patients can return to their daily life 6-7 days after surgery. The redness in the eye lasts for about 3-4 weeks and gradually decreases with the use of eye drops.

Orthoptic treatment
Orthoptic treatment consists of computer-aided eye exercises applied to both eyes to restore vision and depth perception, and is considered a form of physiotherapy. In addition to treating strabismus, this treatment makes us more comfortable while driving, playing sports that require adaptation to time and distance, such as soccer and table tennis.
Surgical intervention
The method to be applied during surgical intervention varies according to the type and degree of strabismus. With this method of treatment, some of the 6 muscles in our eyes are strengthened, some are weakened, or some of the points of influence are changed. Strabismus surgery is performed under general anesthesia in children, and local or general anesthesia in adults.
Botox
Botox is more effective in cases of strabismus mainly due to paralysis, in patients who have undergone surgery but have not fully recovered, and in patients with eye strabismus due to goitre and can be used for treatment purposes. Depending on whether the strabismus is permanent or temporary, the treatment may be repeated.
